More Creepy Christian Retail

Apparently having nothing better to do, I was paging through the online Christian Dollar Store site when I found this Lion of Judah T-shirt. What struck me immediately, other than the shields and the choice of scripture (Revelation 5:5, Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.") was the brilliant blue of the lion's eyes, which spurred me to waste even more time researching the very important matter of lion eye color. In case you wondered, it's typically a deep yellow or orange, although sometimes it looks like a sort of hazel. Cubs have blue eyes, which tend to turn at around six months. So, why the blue eyes here? Hmmm. What sort of person walks around in a T-shirt that says "My blue-eyed lion-God is going to kick your heathen ass, if he hasn't already?"

Sunday morning, you're checking out the Xtian e-retail sites. Your version of worship, perhaps? I like it. Take down another piece of pseudo-Xtian merchandise! Get the creeps!

1 month ago I bet Mike that this was "Jews for Jesus" shmatteh. I can attest that Protestants really want to relate to the Chosen People (not really reciprocated) but they'd never ever put a Star of David on their merchandise. The Aryan-blue eyes are there to throw us off.

Today I was dumping my old NY Times and found a full-page Jews for Jesus ad including this and other Judaic booty.

Dude owes me 2-bits.

OMG, you're right. I noticed the Star of David too and didn't know what to make of it.
